GSM, weave, shrinkage — in plain trader language.
Most complaints on winter goods come down to three things: the GSM was lighter than quoted, the shade drifted between lots, or the goods shrank after the first wash. This page is what we commit to on each of them.
Read across the row.
Figures are our standard working ranges. Your order sheet can specify otherwise, and whatever is written on the order sheet is what gets cut.

Choosing GSM
GSM is the price. Pick it against your market, not against the sample.
Every 20 GSM you add is weight in the carton and rupees on the piece. These are the bands buyers actually order in.
-
180–220
Entry price point for high-volume market supply. Light hand, sells on shelf price.
-
220–260
The band most repeat buyers settle on. Good weight without pushing the piece rate up.
-
260–320
Heavy winter and north-India hill markets. Also the band hotels specify.
-
120–200
Flannel and blend range for dohar, AC-room stock and shoulder-season selling.
Quality control
Five checks between the roll and your carton.
Fabric in. GSM verified on receipt against the purchase order. Rolls outside tolerance go back to the mill, not into cutting.
Shade approval. You approve a physical swatch before bulk cutting. Repeat orders are matched to that swatch, not to a photograph or a screen.
Pre-production sample. One finished piece from the actual lot, in the actual packing, before the line runs.
In-line checking. Measurement, stitch and closure checked during production so a fault is caught in hundreds of pieces, not thousands.
Final and packing. Piece-wise check, thread cutting, folding, labelling, then carton count verified against the invoice before loading.
Common questions
What buyers ask before the first order.
Will the shade match my last order?
Yes, if the previous shade was approved on a physical swatch — we keep it and match the new lot to it. Dye lots do drift slightly across mills, which is why we ask you to approve a swatch rather than a photo.
How much shrinkage should I expect?
Polar fleece is synthetic and effectively stable. Flannel and cotton blends are pre-shrunk before cutting; allow 2–3% on the cotton content after the first wash.
Can I get my own GSM?
Yes. Anything inside the working ranges is routine; outside them we quote after checking with the mill. Whatever GSM is written on the order sheet is what is verified on fabric receipt.
Do you sample before bulk?
On every custom order. You get a pre-production piece from the actual lot, in the actual packing, before the line runs.
What about custom prints?
Send artwork and we produce a strike-off for approval. Screen and rotary printing both available through the Panipat network; print fastness is checked before dispatch.
What care instructions go on the label?
Standard is machine wash cold, mild detergent, no bleach, low tumble or line dry. Fleece should not be ironed hot. We print your own care wording if your brand specifies it.
Still deciding between fleece and flannel?
Tell us the price point and the market you sell into. We will suggest the fabric and GSM that moves there.
